Why Sublime

Nation states, criminal organizations, and lone wolves attempt to phish businesses, non-profits, and governments 24/7/365. When they succeed it can be extraordinarily destructive, disrupting coronavirus research, impacting a US presidential election, or damaging a country’s national defense. Email is the #1 attack vector, and last year phishing cost US businesses over $9B in direct financial losses.

Security professionals deserve superpowers that make them the heroes in this fight.

What we do

Sublime is making email security programmable.

Many companies have tried to solve phishing using black box ML. They've failed for the past 20 years. We're taking a different approach - we've created a DSL to enable security professionals, IT admins, and academic researchers to quickly develop new phishing detection rules. These new, community-built rules can be powered by arbitrary sets of ML models, 3rd party enrichment services, and custom functions. All backed by a GitHub-like system for version control that makes sharing and collaboration easy for the first time ever.

Here's an example of a moderately sophisticated phishing detection rule that is written in Sublime's Message Query Language (MQL):

Role

As our Head of Partnerships you’ll be responsible for growing revenue from Sublime’s Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) partners. You’ll also own our relationships with resellers like Optiv and Guidepoint, and technology partners like Tines and Panther.

At Sublime you will have an opportunity to:

• Lead and shape partnerships with top Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) providers
• Cultivate and expand our network of Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and resellers, such as Optiv and Guidepoint, to grow our market presence
• Spearhead go-to-market partnerships with cutting-edge technology partners like Tines, Panther, and LimaCharlie
• Design and implement partnership strategies that align with our business goals, ensuring long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with key industry players
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to ensure smooth execution of partnership initiatives and maximize their impact
• Represent our company at industry events, conferences, and forums, building our brand reputation and expanding our influence within the cybersecurity community
• Build and scale a world-class Partnerships organization

Challenges

We have a lot of tough Partnership challenges to solve. Here are just a few:

• The advanced email security services that MSSPs and MDR providers are building on top of Sublime are new in the industry, how do we catalyze an industry shift towards making this a standard / table-stakes service offer?
• How do we balance our time and resources between MSSPs and MDR providers vs MSPs and resellers?
• How can we best support partner efforts to market and sell Sublime-based email services?
• How should we allocate our time and resources between expanding existing partnerships and acquiring new ones?
• We have a wide variety of current and potential partners: small / regional MSPs, MSSPs, and even MDR providers, large national MSSPs, security companies with MDR practices (SentinelOne, Crowdstrike), resellers/VARs (Optiv, GuidePoint), and more. How do we partner with and enable these different types of organizations?

• Optimized for flow: We endeavor to have as few scheduled meetings as possible. Right now, we have an all-hands on Tuesdays and that's it
